(KSL News) Investigators say a fire that started in the vacant Layton home was arson. It happened near 2200 North and Hillfield Road.
A neighbor walking by spotted the blaze just before noon and called 911.
False ceilings made it difficult for crews to fight the fire, but they were able to get it contained pretty quickly.
Fire officials say the home was being used for storage. Damage is estimated at $75,000.
