(KSL News) Saturday's big win over BYU sealed the deal for the Utes on Saturday. Sunday's release of the latest BCS Standings only confirmed what their fans already knew: the Utes will be playing football in the new year.
The latest top 25 tally shows Utah sitting at No. 6 in the BCS Standings. The Utes are the highest-ranked non-BCS team, with room to spare. The Utes will play in a BCS bowl game.
The Boise State Broncos likely will lose out as an at-large option. The Cougars await their lower-tier bowl destination, which likely will be the Las Vegas or Poinsettia Bowl.
