SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Governor Jon Huntsman and several Utah companies will travel to China next month on a trade mission.
The weeklong trip is organized by the Governor's Office of Economic Development and will take place October 16th through the 20th.
Companies applied to be included in the mission and were selected based on four criteria, including presenting job creation opportunities for Utah and fitting well with the industry needs in China.
Representatives from the companies will have the opportunity to meet with Chinese government officials and Chinese economic development officials. The companies pay for their own trip.
The hope is to give Utah companies a head start in the growing Chinese market.
