SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Getting a divorce in Utah could become more expensive if a West Jordan legislator gets her way.
Representative Peggy Wallace says she wants to increase the fees for divorces not involving domestic violence. Divorcing couples typically pay about $90 in court fees.
Wallace says she also wants to try to limit the reasons for a divorce, but not this year. She says the state shouldn't be subsidizing divorces. She hasn't decided what she thinks the fees should be.
