SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- If your car emits a smokey haze, watch out.
The Davis County Health Department is distributing "Smoking Vehicle" cards. The department hopes it will be a way to catch vehicles with excessive exhaust.
Residents can use the cards to report the date, time, location, make, model and license plate of vehicles they see with smokey exhaust.
Any Davis resident identified with a "Smoking Vehicle" will be required to go to the county's Inspection and Maintenance Tech Center for emissions testing.
Smoking vehicles registered in other counties but reported in Davis will be turned over to their respective counties' air-quality bureaus for enforcement.
The same kind of program has been available to residents of Salt Lake, Utah and Weber counties for years.
