Utah school districts are being asked to take a look at the issue of bus drivers and cell phones. The Utah State Board of Education wants to know if there is a problem.
The board just approved a policy requiring all districts to have guidelines on electronic devices, including cell phones.
PTA representatives question whether that policy should extend to bus drivers. They say they've been getting calls and e-mails from worried parents who tell them bus drivers are talking on their phones while driving.
In response, board members say they've been told districts do have policies on bus drivers. But they say they'll ask administrators to investigate immediately.
