FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- A preliminary hearing has been set for the Bountiful teen accused in the death of his mother, who body was found stuffed in a freezer.
Eighteen-year-old Jeremy Hauck appeared in court yesterday wearing shackles an a red jumpsuit. He's charged with first-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Laura Hauck last month.
Hauck is accused of shooting and slitting his mother's throat in their Bountiful home. Authorities say the teen then stuffed his mother's body into a freezer and stole her car.
Police found the woman's body on August 7th. Two days later, officers arrested Hauck in Missoula, Montana.
Hauck's preliminary hearing is set for September 25th.
