Gene Kennedy ReportingA West Jordan woman dies after her SUV rolled over on Interstate 215. The truck blew a tire. It is a reminder how careful drivers have to be if they have a blowout.
The highway patrol believes the victim panicked after the blowout and over-corrected. She was westbound on I-215 near 700 West when the rear-left tire blew. When she overcorrected, investigators think that's when the SUV lost control and slammed into another vehicle.
That driver is okay, but the victim rolled her SUV several times on the right side of the road. Even though 52 year-old Mechail M. Lealaitafea was wearing her seat belt, the roof on the truck came down on her and crushed her.
