Have You Seen This? Dust devil singles out palm tree for a party

PARTY IN THE USA — The going is tough right now.

But sometimes when the going gets tough, the tough get a little down and overwhelmed. And if that happens, maybe it’s time to have a little 15-second party.

I admit, that wasn’t the best intro ever, but believe it or not, it sort of explains what happens in this featured video.

In the clip, a pretty good-sized dust devil is traveling down Coronado Road in Phoenix. At first, it seems to be targeting a small, new growth tree, but as the camera pans up, it’s clear where the dust devil’s true intentions lie.

The man behind the camera, Zak Norgren, is delighted and amazed to see the top of the palm tree turning in wide circles. In other words, the dust devil came to party and the palm tree couldn’t help but party right along. Because sometimes when a little raucous wind comes along, all you can do is go with the flow.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

"The whole event only lasted 10 –15 seconds, but I was in awe," Norgren said, according to the video description.

While dust devils are often harmless, they can grow big enough to harm people and property. It looks like this particular dust devil may have snapped that tree in half if it was just a little bit stronger.

Be careful out there, folks. But as Bill and Ted said, party on dudes.
