LINDON — A Plain City man died, and a woman was seriously injured after a wrong-way crash on I-15 late Tuesday night, authorities said.

Teke Joseph Grondel, 28, died in the crash, Utah Highway Patrol officials said.

Dispatchers received reports of a vehicle traveling north on southbound lanes in Lindon shortly after 11:30 p.m., troopers said. A crash was reported not long after those calls were placed.

Officials said Grondel was not wearing a seat belt and was killed on impact. A 22-year-old woman in another vehicle was transported to a hospital in serious condition, according to authorities.

Troopers did not say which driver was heading in the wrong direction and that remains under investigation. They were interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence Wednesday as a part of the investigation.
