THE TIME WARP — I’m feeling older and older every single day.

One way I know I’m getting old is from this list. While I’d love to write something to make you feel better during this trying time, I’m afraid I’ve done the exact opposite.

Believe it or not, the year 2000 was 20 years ago, which means a lot of your favorite movies are turning 20 this year. So, here are 10 movies turning 20 in 2020 to make you feel old.

'Frequency'

Release date: April 28, 2000

"I want you to remember this word, OK? It’s kind of like a codeword: Yahoo. Can you remember that?"

The year 2000 was a big year at the box office, but one movie that snuck under the radar was "Frequency." The movie is a sci-fi thriller filled with excitement, surprises and plenty of heart.

The movie tells the story of a father and son who connect via radio waves 30 years apart. The two get to know each other again and also work together to stop a murderer. "Frequency" is turning 20 this year, but it’s well worth another look.

'Gladiator'

Release date: May 5, 2000

"Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

I can’t believe this one is 20 years old. I still remember being in high school when this movie came out, and it was all anyone could talk about.

I’ve seen "Gladiator" at least a dozen times; just thinking about it gets me excited to watch it again.

"Gladiator" is rated R for intense, graphic combat.

'Shanghai Noon'

Release date: May 26, 2000

"C’mon, Roy, you can do it. Ah, no you can’t, he’s gonna kill you."

The 1990s and 2000s were all about teaming Jackie Chan up with an American comic. While the "Rush Hour" series became the go-to, "Shanghai Noon" is my favorite.

The movie is chock-full of lone liners and some solid action, thanks to Chan. The movie is still funny today, and I say "Uno mas" more than I’d like to admit.

'X-Men'

Release date: July 14, 2000

"Mutation is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet."

It seems we get an "X-Men" movie every couple of years, but it all started 20 years ago with the movie that changed superhero movies forever.

In 2000, "X-Men" made everyone realize that comic book movies didn’t have to be absurd with no depth. It also proved that they could make money hand over fist, and studios have never looked back. Can you believe we were introduced to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine 20 years ago?

'What Lies Beneath'

Release date: July 21, 2000

"I think she’s starting to suspect something."

It’s been 20 years since the director of "Back to the Future," Robert Zemeckis, thoroughly creeped us out with "What Lies Beneath."

This movie has been scaring audiences over and over again since 2000. I’m looking forward to showing it to my kids when they get older and watching their brains explode when they realize what’s happened to their beloved Indiana Jones.

'Remember the Titans'

Release date: September 29, 2000

"I don’t scratch my head unless it itches and I don’t dance unless I hear some music. I will not be intimidated. That's just the way it is."

Sports movies are a dime a dozen anymore, and making an iconic one is no easy feat.

How do you stand out in such a crowded field? I think I have the answer for you: Get the film made by Disney, make it about race and put Denzel Washington in it.

"Remember the Titans" is turning 20, and it’s still a favorite in many a household. I think it will be for another 20 years and beyond.

'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'

Release date: November 17, 2000

"Am I just eating because I’m bored?"

I spoke too soon. The creepiest movie of 2000 was not "What Lies Beneath," it was "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

OK, so maybe you didn’t find it terrifying like I did, but this movie didn’t sit well with me. It did with many others because it made a killing at the box office, and 20 years later it’s still being watched by families every Christmas season.

'Unbreakable'

Release date: November 22, 2000

"Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. I’m not a mistake! It all makes sense!"

While "X-Men" was revolutionizing the superhero genre in 2000 "Unbreakable" was flipping it on its head.

This M. Night Shyamalan movie is a polarizing one, but it spurned two sequels, albeit years later, and has a big cult following 20 years after its release.

'The Emperor’s New Groove'

Release date: December 15, 2000

"Hey, I’ve been turned into a cow. Can I go home?"

In the year 2000 I was a punk high school kid who thought he was too "grown up" for animated movies like "The Emperor’s New Groove."

What a stupid kid I was. This movie is pure gold; it's absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately, I didn’t find this out until some years later when I was in college and needed a distraction from homework. I now own this movie, and it is a favorite here at our home 20 years after its release.

'Cast Away'

Release date: December 22, 2000

"Wilson!"

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since we watched Tom Hanks drop 60 pounds before our very eyes, cry over a volleyball, and witness one of the most aggravating endings of all time.

It’s impressive that director Robert Zemeckis released two movies in 2000 that would still be relevant and a part of pop culture in 2020, but here we are. It was a good year for old Bob.
