SALT LAKE CITY — Criminal charges were filed Thursday against a Salt Lake man who police say told them he knew he was likely engaging in sexual activity with a juvenile but “ignored the red flags.”
Douglas B. Corbett, 65, was charged in 3rd District Court with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony, and enticing a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
In November, police say Corbett met a 15-year-old boy on an online app. Corbett picked up the boy and drove him to a parking lot where they engaged in sexual activity, according to charging documents.
Corbett “stated that he likes ‘younger guys’ and he knows they have ‘daddy issues.’ The defendant also admitted he knew (the boy) was underage and that he ‘ignored the red flags,’” according to charging documents.
Correction: An earlier version said Corbett made statements after he was arrested. He has not been arrested, but a warrant was issued for his arrest.
