MORONI — After more than a week, water in Moroni is now safe for infants younger than 6 months old to drink, city officials announced on Monday.

Before Monday, nitrate levels made the water unsafe to drink for pregnant women and babies younger than 6 months, according to a warning issued on Feb. 26.

The warning is no longer in effect and the city has since flushed the system.

City officials advised homeowners to flush their pipes and faucets by running cold water through them for at least five minutes each.
