THE SEA — We had a cat when I was growing up. It was the laziest cat I'd ever seen. He was massively overweight and just slept all day wherever he wanted to.
I distinctly remember going to school and seeing Otis sprawled out on top of the couch sound asleep. Later, when I came home, he was still asleep — but this time on the recliner. At that moment I thought to myself, "Being a cat would be amazing. I could just sleep whenever I wanted to."
Ever since then, when I see animals I sometimes think, "I could do that." I had this feeling today when I saw this video.
Some boaters in Olympia, Washington, spotted these huge sea lions hanging out on this boat, and it's a sight to see. These giant marine mammals are nearly sinking the poor boat and they have barely a care in the world. All they care about is taking a rest on this vessel, finding another fish to nibble on, and making sure Gerald doesn't get on the boat with them.
I know it's odd, but I have a bit of envy when it comes to these sea lions and how they are living their best life on someone else's boat. Really, that's all I've ever wanted.
