THE BIG BLUE — I'm sure this seal pup is thanking its lucky sea stars after a harrowingly close call with a pod of orcas.

The seal had to make a quick decision: which was safer, using its own two tail fins to flee from the ocean's greatest predator, or seeking refuge with the hairless apes? Looks like it made the right choice. These apes were friendly and wanted the seal to escape the orca's jaws just as much as it did.

As the seal hops aboard the human's boat, you can see the concentration on its face as the hungry orcas circle. It even gets spooked and falls back into the water. But it's determined to live and makes it back onto the boat!

Eventually, the couple aboard the boat decides it's time to get away from the whales and take the seal to safer waters. This is like the exact opposite of those nature documentaries.

As the ragtag team speeds off, I think the seal is grateful. Do I see a smile on its face before it dove back into the sea?

While this situation could have ended far differently, it goes to show that sometimes it's best to leave nature be, but other times, when nature calls, you answer.
