HAPPY TOWN — 'Tis the season for both giving and receiving.
I know we often think about how wonderful it is to give, and that's true. Giving gifts is an amazing feeling. Making others happy is truly something special. But I also think receiving in a grateful manner can be just as rewarding to those around us.

Twitter user @iamlgndfrvr posted this video of his daughter with the following caption, "I Tried Giving My Daughter The Worst Xmas Gift Ever & I Didn’t Expect This Reaction."
I don't think any of us expected this reaction, but I'm so glad we got it. This is pure joy from this little girl over a banana.
It makes me feel terrible about all the times I threw fits or pouted because my gift wasn't big enough, flashy enough or not the exact thing I said I wanted. I want to take this much joy in every gift I receive, whether that's a banana or a luxury car wrapped with a giant red bow in my driveway. (I get the feeling receiving a banana is a much more likely scenario for me.)
I think we can all learn something from this little girl this Christmas Eve. Giving is usually better than receiving, but receiving in the right way and being grateful for the sacrifice of others is pretty darn great, too.
Happy holidays to all.
