SALT LAKE CITY — Police say two people found in a Cedar City hotel with hundreds of fake IDs and fraudulent credit cards were also involved in package thefts in the area.

Lance Dominique Mann, 29, and Ashley Mariah Huddy, 23, were arrested over the weekend and ordered to be held without bail in Iron County. The pair are not Utah residents and are believed to have “hundreds and hundreds of victims from many different states,” according to police.

Officers responded to a complaint about tenants at the La Quinta hotel, 1377 S. Main, on Saturday night, according to a probable cause affidavit. The hotel provided evidence that people staying in a certain room — who had also been “problematic” to other guests — were using drugs, the affidavit says.

After smelling marijuana burning inside the room, police were let into the room by Mann and saw drugs “in plain view” inside, according to the affidavit.

Officers detained Mann and Huddy and obtained a search warrant for the room, where they found “several hundred credit cards under different names, several hundred IDs, blank credit cards ready to be stamped, a credit card making machine, methamphetamine and marijuana,” the affidavit says.

Investigators later determined that the pair may have been involved in local thefts of UPS packages from porches, Cedar City police said Monday.

A judge early Sunday morning ordered that Mann and Huddy be held without bail.
