OGDEN — The 2nd District Courthouse in Ogden was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a bomb threat, officials said. After a security sweep by authorities, nothing was suspicious was found, according to Weber County Sheriff's officials.

The courthouse, at 2525 Grant Avenue in Ogden, was evacuated about 3:15 p.m., according to Utah State Courts spokesman Geoffrey Fattah.

All inmates had been sent back to the jail for the day and most court staff had been sent home by 4:25 p.m., according to Fattah.

The courthouse was closed for the remainder of Wednesday but scheduled to reopen Thursday morning for normal business hours.

Any missed court hearings caused by the incident would be rescheduled, Weber County Sheriff's officials said.

Last year, the courthouse was evacuated due to bomb threats three times within the span of a month.

Wednesday's bomb threat is still under investigation, officials said.
