EAGLE MOUNTAIN — The woman who sustained critical injuries Thursday after her vehicle collided with a semitruck in Eagle Mountain has died, authorities say.

Kayla Williamson, 23, was from Idaho and had been living in Lehi.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson was talking on her cellphone Thursday when witnesses say she ran a red light traveling southbound on Sunset Drive. A dump truck carrying asphalt, traveling west on Cory B. Wride Highway (state Route 73), was unable to avoid her SUV.

She was airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo in extremely critical condition. A friend of the victim told deputies he was on the phone with her at the time of the crash.
