SALT LAKE CITY — Another men’s basketball player at the University of Utah has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to several reports.

Naseem Gaskin, a 6-foot-3 guard from Northern California, entered his name into the portal Tuesday, indicating his desire to transfer from the program. Gaskin joined the program in 2018 as a freshman but used a redshirt season in 2018-19.

Twitter user @Utebuntu was the first to report the news after Gaskin’s name appeared in the portal. Only those with direct affiliation to an NCAA recruitment position has access to the portal, which is typically a single login for each NCAA institution.

Gaskin would be the sixth transfer since the beginning of the 2018-19 season to transfer from the program. On Monday, former Ute Donnie Tillman officially transferred to UNLV after saying he wanted to be closer to home to be closer to his ailing mother.

Other transfers include Jayce Johnson, Vante Hendrix, Christian Popoola and Charles Jones Jr.

The university has yet to officially confirm Gaskin’s addition to the portal, though most programs don’t announce when a player enters the portal.
