SALT LAKE CITY — One person is in critical condition after being hit by a car on I-15, authorities say.
The crash took place near 1000 North in Salt Lake City. Two right lanes of southbound I-15 are closed, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Nick Street confirmed that the person had been hit by a car and was in critical condition.
Officials are estimating the crash scene will not be cleared until 4 p.m., according to UDOT's website. Delays in the area are expected to be longer than 15 minutes, according to UDOT.
As of 11:30 a.m., traffic was backed up to Beck Street and delays were growing, according to KSL Traffic Center's Rikki Meece.
No other details about the crash were immediately available.
