SALT LAKE CITY — A Unified firefighter was injured after being struck by a car on Millcreek Canyon Road, officials said Sunday afternoon.
A vehicle was driving up the canyon when the accident happened at 7901 Millcreek Canyon Road, according to Unified Fire Authority spokesman Keith Garner.
The firefighter was struck by a vehicle while responding to a call up the canyon, Garner said. The firefighter, who Garner said is in his late 30s, was walking back to the fire truck just before the accident.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital, Garner said. As of 2:45 p.m., the firefighter was released from the hospital with minor injuries, according to a Unified Fire tweet. The firefighter's name has not been released.
