WOODS CROSS — A boy has died after crashing his bicycle behind a store in Woods Cross, police say.

The 15-year-old boy crashed about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday behind the Tractor Supply Co. building near 1533 S. Redwood Road, according to Woods Cross Police Lt. Adam Osoro.

When they arrived, emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene, Osoro said. It appears the boy died from a head injury, he added. Osoro did not identify the teen.

The teen was by himself, so police do not know exactly how he crashed, according to Woods Cross Police Chief Chad Soffe. There is a loading dock near the back of the store that he may have been jumping off, Soffe added.

The teen was not wearing a helmet, Soffe said.

A family member noticed the boy was missing and pinged his phone, and they found him a short time later, according to Osoro. A family member and an employee of Tractor Supply Co. called police, he added.

No other information about the crash was immediately available.
