SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was critically injured in a crash on I-80 near Bangerter Highway Thursday evening, authorities said.

Further details about the crash weren't immediately released, but Utah Highway Patrol troopers said the crash involved a semitruck and a passenger car and that the woman was transported to a hospital.

Utah Department of Transportation officials first reported the crash shortly after 5 p.m. Officials said the northbound Bangerter Highway ramp to westbound I-80 is closed. They expected it to reopen later in the evening.
