WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are searching for two men who robbed a West Valley 7-Eleven, fired a shot into the ceiling then fled early Friday morning.
The men entered the convenience store at 3898 W. 4700 South shortly after midnight. They demanded the clerk give them money and cigarettes then brandished a handgun, according to West Valley Police Lt. Shane Matheson. The clerk gave them a little money but was unable to open the second till.
One of the men fired a shot into the ceiling and the other grabbed a 30-pack of beer before the pair left, Matheson said. There were no injuries, but police are still searching for the two.
The shooter was a black man wearing a black, puffy coat while the other was a black man with a red-and-blue hooded jacket and black pants, according to Matheson. Both appeared to be in their 20s.
Those with information regarding the two men can call the West Valley Police Department at 801-840-4000.
