MAGNA — A pedestrian who was hit by an SUV while crossing a street in Magna has died from his injuries almost two weeks later, police said.
Robert Dewey, 59, of Magna, died Saturday "due to complications from the injuries he sustained" during a crash on Jan. 30, according to the Unified Police Department.
The SUV hit Dewey about 7:30 p.m. near 8950 W. Magna Main St., though a witness told police Dewey was waving his hands in an effort to indicate his presence to the driver of the vehicle. Authorities found Dewey near a crosswalk but were unsure at the time whether he had been crossing there.
The SUV stopped after the accident and the driver, who was not found to have any immediate signs of impairment or criminal intent, has cooperated with the police as they investigate the incident further, officials said.
