OGDEN — Police on Tuesday located a 23-year-old man who is a person of interest in an Ogden shooting that left a man dead and his brother critically injured.

Later Tuesday night, officers said they were actively searching for another person they believe was involved, but gave no further details on who that person might be.

Authorities believe Theron Farmer is connected to the shooting that killed 18-year-old Kameron Johnson and injured his brother, 20-year-old Eric Johnson Jr., Monday night, Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon said.

On Tuesday afternoon, police were searching for Farmer at the Stonehedge Apartments near 200 North Fairfield Road in Layton, according to Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman. Officers were looking for Farmer in a specific apartment there but did not locate him in that apartment.

However, Ogden police then got further information that led them to believe Farmer was in another apartment in the complex, Lyman said. A SWAT team arrived at the building about 3:50 p.m. and police broke a window at the apartment to deploy gas inside, which eventually provoked Farmer to come out of the unit, Lyman said.

Farmer was taken into custody about 4:30 p.m. He was "decontaminated" of the gas in an ambulance, but was otherwise uninjured during the incident, Lyman said.

Police don't know why Farmer was at the apartment or who else was in the unit when they arrested him, Lyman said.

The homicide Farmer was wanted in connection with happened Monday evening at 862 W. Lake St. in Ogden. There, police found Kameron Johnson dead, Eynon said. Eric Johnson Jr. was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe Farmer is acquainted with the two brothers, and that they were specifically targeted in the shooting, police said in a news release.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 801-629-8228 or email detectives@ogdencity.com.

Editor's note: Police initially gave the spelling of "Kamron" instead of "Kameron." They also said Kameron Johnson was 16 instead of 18, and Eric Johnson Jr. is 22 instead of 20. Police later corrected that information, and it has also been corrected in this story.
