MILLCREEK — Both directions of 3300 South will be closed until Monday evening due to a water main break, officials said.
The road is closed in both directions between 700 East and 900 East, according to Salt Lake City Public Utilities spokeswoman Holly Mullen. Public utilities officials expect one lane to be reopened in each direction by 6 p.m., the agency said in a tweet.
The closure was first reported just before 11 p.m. Sunday, according to a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation.
As of 12:30 p.m. Monday, water service had been restored in the area, Mullen said.
Update: Out team has restored water service near 800 E & 3300 S in @MillcreekUT . Repairs on broken water main nearly complete. Then they will back-fill hole. Anticipate reopening 3300 S between 900 E & 700 E by 5 p.m. today. @KSLTraffic@SLCgov@slcmayor#DamMonday#utpol

The intersection experienced another water main break in August that closed the intersection for several days. Mullen said Monday’s break was on a different water line.
The cause of the break is due to aging infrastructure and is not weather-related, she said. Various areas of Salt Lake City have old water lines, and some are up to 100 years old, Mullen said.
