(KSL News) A convicted murderer serving time at the Utah State Prison will also serve time in the federal pen for his involvement in an escape last year.

Danny Martin Gallegos pleaded guilty to federal gun charges against him yesterday afternoon. He was found in possession of the firearm last September after escaping from the Daggett County jail with fellow inmate Juan Carlos Diaz-Arevalo.

Gallegos could face up to 10 years in federal prison for the charges when he is sentenced in January. He and Diaz-Arevalo have already pleaded guilty to state escape charges.
