PROVO — Police released the name of an 82-year-old pedestrian who died when he was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon in Provo, officials said.
Rodolfo Blanco, of Orem, was crossing N. State Street at Riverside Avenue about 12:50 p.m. when a Honda Civic heading north hit Blanco, the Provo Police Department tweeted. He died on scene.
The Honda Civic was driven by a woman in her early 20s, and there was no preliminary indication that intoxication was a factor, according to Provo Police Lt. Brian Taylor. Investigators are still working to determine who had the right of way.
