SALT LAKE CITY — Police identified a 33-year-old construction worker who was electrocuted at a job site Monday in Salt Lake City, officials said Wednesday morning.
Travis Stoddard was a sub-contractor doing electrical work for an expansion under construction at the state archives, 346 S. Rio Grande St., according to Salt Lake police.
Stoddard died Monday afternoon from what appeared to have been an electrical shock, Salt Lake City police detective Greg Wilking said Tuesday. Stoddard was working alone in the corner of a room that was not easily visible, Wilking said, and Stoddard’s co-workers did not notice him and closed the construction site for the night.
Stoddard’s wife contacted the company when her husband did not come home, but the company did not have any information. Co-workers searched the construction site Tuesday morning and found Stoddard’s body.
Wilking said Stoddard’s death appears to be an unfortunate accident.
The case is still under police investigation.
