SALT LAKE CITY — A new wildfire closed both directions of state Route 39 at the mouth of Ogden Canyon in Weber County Wednesday afternoon, according to a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation.

The Middle Canyon Fire is now 77 percent contained, and a new blaze from the Dollar Ridge Fire burned 50 to 100 acres of timber Tuesday night, according to fire officials.

Crews continued to fight several wildfires across the state Wednesday.
