SALT LAKE CITY — On July 24, 1847, Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley, and 171 years later, many Utahns will commemorate the occasion with parades, festivals and fireworks.

Want to join the celebration? Here are 15 fireworks shows taking place throughout the state, with each city's Pioneer Day activities linked where possible. Admission is free, unless otherwise noted.

Northern Utah

Bountiful Handcart Days: Fireworks will start Friday, July 20 at about 10 p.m. at Mueller Park Junior High School, 955 E. 1800 South.

Logan Pioneer Day celebration: Fireworks begin Tuesday, July 24 at 10 p.m. at Willow Park, 419 W. 700 South.

North Logan 24th of July celebration: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at the south end of Elk Ridge Park, 1060 E. 2500 North.

Ogden Pioneer Days: Fireworks will follow the 7:30 p.m. rodeo on Tuesday, July 24 at the Ogden Pioneer Stadium, 668 17th St.

Tremonton City Days: Fireworks will take place at 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Jeanie Stevens Park, 700 N. 1000 West.

Salt Lake area

Butlerville Days: Fireworks start at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 at Butler Park in Cottonwood Heights, 7500 S. 2700 East.

Liberty Park 24th of July Celebration: Fireworks will be launched from Herman Franks Park, near Liberty Park in Salt Lake City at 1371 S. 700 East, at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 24 The city suggests finding a seat at Liberty Park (900 S. 600 East).

Salt Lake Bees post-game fireworks: Fireworks will follow the Bees vs. Memphis Redbirds game Tuesday, July 24 at Smith's Ballpark, 77 W. 1300 South. The game begins at 6:35 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online.

Fairview City Pioneer Day: Fireworks start at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 near the derby arena following the demolition derby. Tickets to the derby can be purchased online.

Orem Pioneer Day Fireworks Celebration: Fireworks begin at dusk on Tuesday, July 24 at University Place, 575 E. University Pkwy.

Orem Owlz postgame fireworks: Fireworks will take place following Tuesday's Owlz game versus the Billings Mustangs at Brent Brown Ballpark on the Utah Valley University campus. Tickets can be purchased online.

Mapleton Pioneer Day Celebration: Fireworks start at about 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Ira Allan Park, 1600 S. 800 West.

Spanish Fork Fireworks Spectacular: Fireworks start at 10:30 p.m. at Sports Park, 295 Volunteer Drive. Bringing lawn chairs and blankets are recommended. A concert will take place before the fireworks show.

Eastern Utah

Heber Valley 24th of July Celebration: Fireworks start Tuesday, July 24 at dark at Charleston Park, 3454 S. 3400 West in Heber City.

Southern Utah

Pioneer Days in Monroe: Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24 at Monroe Middle School, 300 E. Center St.
