OGDEN — Ogden Canyon was closed in both directions on Sunday due to a rollover crash, officials said.
The crash took place about 9:35 a.m. in the westbound lanes of state Route 39, but both sides of the highway were closed after the crash, according to Utah Department of Transportation officials. The crash took place about 3 miles east of Ogden near mile post 11 in the canyon, according to Weber County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Michael Streker.
A woman was driving east in a gray Nissan Altima when she drifted to the right, Streker said. She overcorrected into the hillside and then rolled, he said. The car came to rest upside down.
A responding deputy saw fluids leaking from the car and decided to break the car window and get the woman out, Streker said.
The woman had minor injuries and had been released from the hospital as of 12:30 p.m. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, and the woman would likely be cited for DUI, Streker said. He did not release the woman's name.
The highway was reopened as of 12:30 p.m., according to UDOT's website.
No other details about the crash, including if there were any people injured, were immediately available. This story will be updated as more information is released.
