PROVO — A juvenile was critically injured after he was hit by a car in Provo on Friday afternoon, police said.
The boy was hit about 2:15 p.m. near 500 North and 400 West, Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King said. A car traveling west hit him, she said.
The boy was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center by ambulance, and later was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, King said.
As of Friday afternoon, the boy was in critical, but stable, condition. She did not provide an update on the boy’s condition on Saturday morning.
She also did not provide the boy’s age or any other identifying information about him.
The driver stayed on scene and was cooperative with officers. King did not identify the driver.
King said the crash was traumatic for all involved, especially since it involved a juvenile.
“Overall, the whole situation is tragic,” she said.
