SALT LAKE CITY — A man is in critical condition after he was found in Memory Grove Park with several stab wounds early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to an area at the north end of the park near City Creek Canyon shortly around 4:30 a.m. after another person found the wounded 45-year-old man, Salt Lake police detective Robert Ungricht said.

The man was then transported to a hospital. His name was not immediately released.

Police were trying to piece together what happened but did not have any suspects or any other information Wednesday morning. The area where the victim was found was away from any security cameras at the south end of the park, Ungricht said.

Anyone who may have any information regarding the case is encouraged to call Salt Lake police at 801-799-3000.
