OGDEN — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 79-year-old woman who suffers from dementia missing since early Friday morning.

Officials believe Verna Marriott wandered from her home near 428 29th Street sometime between 2 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Friday, Ogden police said in an emailed statement. Marriott's caretakers told police they believe she was not wearing shoes when she wandered away and does not walk very well without her walker.

Marriott is 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 180 lbs. She is white with gray and brown hair.

Anyone with information on Marriott’s whereabouts is asked to call Ogden police at 801-629-8098.

Editor's note: The missing person statement from the Ogden police misstated Marriott's height. It has been corrected.
