Munnings, McDaniel lead UL Monroe past Centenary 74-51

MONROE, La. (AP) — Travis Munnings and Sam McDaniel combined for 25 of their 36 points in the first half and Louisiana Monroe rolled to a 74-51 win over Division III Centenary on Wednesday night.

Munnings had 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. McDaniel had three 3-pointers and 17 points. Three other players scored in double figures for the Warhawks (6-5), who won their third straight.

Munnings had a 3-point play after a Michael Ertel 3-pointer to put ULM on top for good, 19-15 with 13:21 to go in the first half. The game breaker was a 15-0 run that made it 41-22 with nearly 10 minutes later. Five different players scored as the Warhawks went 8 of 10 from the field while the Gents missed seven straight.

ULM was 19-of-29 shooting in the first half (65.5 percent), including 6 of 11 behind the arc, with McDaniel scoring 13 and Munnings 12.

A 12-0 run early in the second half made it a 30-point game.

Cedric Harris had 17 points for the Gents (6-4).
