SPRINGVILLE — One man was killed Wednesday after he lost control of his vehicle and was hit by a pickup truck with a trailer on southbound I-15 near Springville.
The man's car was sideways on the road around 1:15 p.m. when the truck crashed into the driver's side of the vehicle, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Todd Royce. The man, who was in his late teens or early 20s, was killed upon impact.
The three right lanes of the freeway were closed while the crash was investigated but are now open.
Identification of the victim has not yet been released pending family notification. It is still unclear why the man lost control of his vehicle, though weather does not appear to be a factor, Royce said.
