SALT LAKE CITY — It seems that things always get a little hectic around the holidays.
With all the Christmas shopping, decorating and social engagements, it seems like December is always really busy. Sometimes, it can get overwhelming.

Paying for a stranger’s groceries

“I went to a local store for groceries needed for the holiday season. To my embarrassment, I didn't have the $180 needed to pay for everything. The person behind me was a young lady I didn't know. She immediately stepped in saying she would take care of it and used her credit card to pay. She refused to let me pay her back.
“I was pleasantly surprised that a complete stranger would be willing to do what she had just done for me. She will never know how thankful I am. This is what the holiday season is all about.”
Cards in the cemetery

“On Mother's Day this year my 12-year-old son showed me what kindness is. We live across the street from a cemetery. We'd come home from church and he asked me for some paper and markers. He disappeared for a while. When he came back, he was grinning from ear to ear. He'd made cards for the women visiting graves because "they're probably visiting their mom and are sad." He didn't know any of them, but I'm sure he made their day. I know he made mine!”
Spreading Christmas cheer

“A lady (in) our community collects as many candy canes as she can to distribute for free to kids and families at the Ronald McDonald House, Road Home and Christmas Box. A story needs to be done on her for her selflessness and holiday heart. She has been doing it for six years and the most she has collected is 1,600 candy canes!”
