(KSL News) Downtown Salt Lake City received a blast from the past this morning as a pioneer handcart company pushed its way toward Temple Square.
The group of "pioneers" from BYU's Department of Recreation Management and Youth Leadership (RMYL) staged a mini handcart trek from This is The Place Heritage Park all the way downtown.
This mini trek was meant to rally support for a much bigger trek that is set to roll next summer. That group will start in Iowa City and spend nearly three months pushing and pulling its way back to Salt Lake.
