(KSL News) Police are investigating a hunting accident that killed a Farr West teenager.
Fifteen-year-old Nick Joynt was killed last weekend when he and family members were hunting elk in remote Daggett County near Dutch John.
There are conflicting reports on whether Nick was killed by a stray bullet or if his father's gun accidentally discharged.
Daggett County Sheriff Rick Ellsworth said, "They've made no determination at this time. We are still waiting for the medical examiner's report. At this point, we're looking at every angle."
A candlelight vigil was held in Farr West for friends and family to pay their respects and honor Nick. His parents were overwhelmed with emotion and had to leave the vigil.
"They really appreciate it. They say you guys are a bunch of great kids and we'll all miss Nick, they appreciate each and everyone of you," a relative told the crowd.
