CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming police officer is expected to recover after he was shot in the foot allegedly by a suspect who grabbed a second officer's rifle during a domestic disturbance call, authorities said Saturday. The Cheyenne Police Department says Joseph Jacquez, 27, was arrested for domestic battery, disarming a police officer and aggravated assault on a police officer and domestic battery.

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say three people from Wyoming are dead after a small plane crash in northwestern Minnesota. The Pennington County Sheriff's Office identified the victims as Brian Duke, Zach Ostertag and Moy Wing, all from Rawlins, Wyoming. There were no survivors in the crash, which was reported shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday. It happened near Thief River Falls, which is about 70 miles from the Canadian border.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) — Early harvest of sugar beets in western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming has begun. Western Sugar vice president Jerry Darnell tells Scottsbluff radio station KNEB that the company's plants in Scottsbluff and Torrington, Wyoming, have bought over 100,000 tons of beets averaging nearly 16 percent sugar content. The regular sugar beet harvest is set to begin Oct. 6. American Sugar Alliance chief economist Jack Roney says this year's harvest is occurring at one of the best times for sugar prices.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A Bureau of Land Management quarterly oil and gas lease sale in Wyoming has brought in about $38.7 million in bonus bids. The sale on Thursday resulted in competitive bids for more than 106,000 acres. The bonus bids from the sale will be distributed between the federal government and state of Wyoming.
