(KSL News) A reporter for the Salt Lake Tribune has been fired for plagiarism.
Shinika Sykes is accused of copying a story from the University of Utah's student newspaper.
Sykes wrote a story for the Tribune about university spending for a music festival. A story with similar phrasing had appeared in the Daily Utah Chronicle a day earlier.
Skyes says she did the footwork for her own story and never copied the Chronicle.
