RANDOLPH, Rich County — A Box Elder County man was killed in a dirt bike crash on Saturday evening near Bear Lake, according to a press release from the Rich County Sheriff’s Office.
Brad Williams, 46, was killed when a dirt bike collided with a side-by-side at about 8:35 p.m. in South Eden Canyon, on the east side of Bear Lake.
Shelby Secrist, 37, was transported to an Ogden hospital and Jerri Inman, 45, was transported to a Logan hospital. Secrist and Inman also are from Box Elder County.
The three people were part of a family outing with people camping in South Eden Campground, according to the sheriff’s office.
A group of people in the family had gone out to ride on the trails, but it was getting dark, so another group went out to search for the riders, the release said. The collision took place when two of the search group members were traveling on a trail looking for the others.
Utah State Parks is assisting the Rich County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation, which was ongoing as of Sunday afternoon.
