NEW YORK (AP) — Before they became Marvel superheroes, Charlie Cox and Finn Jones say they knew exactly zero about the Marvel universe they were entering.
But Cox says he reasoned that bringing fresh eyes to his role as the vigilante Daredevil could be beneficial, helping him create a portrayal that was fresh and specific.
Jones viewed his character, Iron First, as a human being first and only secondarily as a superhero. In portraying Iron Fist, Jones says he was chiefly interested in his character's vulnerabilities, not the super powers.
Now Cox and Finn Jones have joined forces with Mike Colter ("Luke Cage") and Krysten Ritter ("Jessica Jones") for "The Defenders," a much-awaited miniseries hybrid of those four Marvel solo series. It's new on Netflix.
