(KSL News) The Salt Lake City Council has delivered an early Christmas present to holiday shoppers.
The council unanimously voted last night to continue the tradition of free on-street parking between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
Motorists have to park at one of the meters covered with red and green bags and bows. The free parking has a 2-hour limit.
The city is basically passing up the opportunity to collect $150,000 in fees and fines.
