MURRAY — A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found at the bottom of a swimming pool in Murray Wednesday afternoon, according to Murray Deputy Fire Chief Jon Harris.
The boy was found around 3:10 p.m. at the bottom of the Cimarron neighborhood community pool at approximately 6200 South and 1200 West, Harris said. Two witnesses pulled the boy from the pool and began to administer CPR.
Firemen arrived on the scene three minutes after the first emergency call was placed and transported the boy to Primary Children's Hospital in an ambulance, Harris said. The boy was breathing but unconscious when crews arrived and water was detected in his lungs. He arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
It is still unknown how the boy ended up at the bottom of the pool and how long he remained there before being pulled out.
