(KSL News) A Bountiful neighborhood had an unusual visitor this morning!

A 2-year-old female moose came wandering out of the hills in the Spring Creek Drive area.

Residents called the Division of Wildlife Resources about 4:30 this morning, and it took until 11:00 before the cow moose was finally tranquilized.

Even though only two years old, this moose was heavy, and it took a group of neighbors to help carry her into a trailer.

Keith Fullenkamp/ Utah Div. of Wildlife Resources: "This moose will go to Colorado. They give us some Big Horn Sheep in a wildlife trade. This moose who became a nuisance moose will go there to be part of a reintroduction program to establish wild populations in their area."

It's not uncommon for a young moose to wander into a residential area. Wildlife officials say never approach one in the wild--call the experts!
