SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they believe robbed two banks during the past two weeks.
The man, who is in his early-to-mid 20s, walked into a KeyBank located on 290 S. 1300 East just before 2:50 p.m. Monday, Salt Lake police said. He handed a note to a teller demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said the man is also suspected in the robbery of a Zion’s Bank located at 701 E. 400 South on May 31. In that case, police said the man presented a note to a teller to put money into a bag or a gun would be used.
The man is described as white with a darker complexion. He is approximately 6 feet 3 inches and 175 pounds and had a scruffy, unshaven face. He has tattoos on the fingers of his left hand and was seen wearing a dark beanie, black-rimmed glasses and a burgundy-colored plaid shirt during Monday’s robbery.
He was described as wearing a black T-shirt over a blue-and-white striped hoodie with cream-colored sleeves and tan pants during the robbery on May 31.
Anyone with information about the man is encouraged to call police at 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may also be submitted by texting 274367. Texts should start with TIPSSLCPD before information about the case.
